The Old Butchershop

The Old Butcher Shop was founded in 1986 by Bobby Courson and his two sons, Keith and Craig Courson. The original location was part of The Lanier County Freezer Locker. The Freezer Locker processed farm raised beef and pork. Working for and later purchasing this facility, inspired the Courson’s to venture into the retail meat industry. That decision, in turn brings us where we are today! We are a retail meat market with two locations, Lakeland, Georgia and Pearson, Georgia.

We process all fresh cuts of beef, pork and poultry in house. We also make our own fresh pork sausage, smoked in house. The Old Butcher Shop sausage has become a favorite with our customers through the years at both locations. With customer demand we also added a fresh fish and seafood market.

In today’s fast paced world, the retail meat industry for the most part, has become a pre-packaged take it or leave it business, with very little one on one interaction with the customers. However, with the Grace of God and the continued support of our customers, both local and the entire South Georgia and North Florida area, The Old Butcher Shop will continue selling meats and homemade sausage the same way it has for the last 37 years, the Old-Fashioned Way!!
